On site in an airfield, our client was using numerous containers to store parts and stock, but it was becoming increasingly difficult to manage and organise. We were approached to turn the corner of their car park into a secure, smart storage unit to replace the containers.
Transported and built using modular construction methods, the restricted access and perimeter to the fence was no problem for our team.
Following a site visit, we confirmed that the current tarmac was suitable for the surface mounted building. The total required space was 150sqm, and because our client wished to purchase the storage building, we designed and manufactured a brand new structure as this was a long-term facility.
Being manufactured in Britain, we are able to offer significant flexibility in our design and turnaround times, leading to delivery in just 4 weeks.
Firstly we erected the frame, constructed on 4m legs. The clear span nature of the frame means no centre leg for complete clear span space. The legs are assembled on level feet to account for the uneven surface.
Next, we clad the walls and the roof. We also installed flashings, guttering and downpipes externally for effective management of water ingress. A blue coated finish blended with their main building for a seamless look and feel on their site.
A roller shutter door to the front gable meant easy goods movement for our client, and a safe, secure, permanent storage unit with much greater capacity than the previous container arrangement.
The final result is a 10m x 15m steel cladded building on 4m leg, which has been designed, manufactured and delivered to our client’s exact needs. It will make their storage and operations procedures much easier for staff, whilst keeping valuable stock and parts covered for many years to come.
With several RAL colours available as standard for their cladding and flashings, we helped create a space that perfectly complemented their site.
