This project required a hybrid of structures from both our Events and Structure Solutions divisions. Located right on an exposed waterfront, our temporary structures were subjected to strong winds and even the possibility of hurricanes, so we were tasked with designing and installing a solution that could stand being out to the test!
Structures provided: Hospitality Pavillion & Boatshed
Duration: November 2016 – July 2017
Unique requirement: Ability to withstand very strong winds
This high-end 20m x 25m double deck structure houses numerous exciting areas including the 11thHour Racing Exploration Zone (an interactive visitor centre), and a hospitality zone – the ideal environment to welcome guests.
The wrap around decked balcony with recessed glazed handrails to the top floor provides fantastic views across the water and the opportunity to take in all of the action.
Much more industrial looking, the boatshed was constructed to house the Land Rover BAR race boat and shore team operations.
This impressive, solid sided, steel structure has a crane built into the roof to allow the team to easily and safely manoeuvre the boat, and is able to withstand winds of over 100mph!
Our installs for the America’s Cup in Bermuda perfectly demonstrate both the skill and adaptability of our design and engineering teams, and the true quality of product that a Great British business can deliver to the other side of the world.
