Managing sound levels in temporary venues
Managing Sound Levels in Temporary Venues
Whether you’re building a temporary event venue in the middle of a city or in a remote area, the impact that sound has on your neighbours needs to be considered. Achieving the perfect balance between creating an immersive experience for attendees and adhering to noise regulations is critical for success!
When delivering temporary corporate event venues in Central London, we were asked to come up with a solution to allow them to manage their sound levels. The venues we build hosts a whole range of events, from product launches and networking events to Christmas parties and end of year meetings, and often these events continue into the evening.
Team effort
Collaborating with our client and other suppliers, we developed an impressive sound insulation solution which has made a big difference. ‘The Dance Box’ is a truss system built over the dancefloor and DJ booth, which is lined with large ‘pillows’ which reduce the noise dramatically. We then cover and line The Dance Box to give it a finish that fits seamlessly within the temporary venue. Once on the dancefloor, you feel like you’re inside a cool, exclusive club area!
The sound insulation solution not only manages noise pollution well, but also has a really positive impact on the way that the rest of the venues are used. The Dance Box retains so much of the sound within, that once you’re off the dancefloor and a few steps away near the dining area, there’s a real noticeable difference in the noise levels, meaning guests can continue conversations just a few feet away from one of the noisiest parts of the event. It brings another degree of versatility and flexibility to the temporary space. Usually, once the DJ begins the majority of the venue gets lost within the sound, but The Dance Box provides a brilliant way to keep the guests and neighbouring properties happy.
Creative Design
Effective sound management in temporary venues requires a blend of preparation, adaptability, and creativity! Working with a British manufacturer like us means that if we don’t already have a solution, we’ll develop one. By addressing acoustic challenges, staying compliant with regulations, and making both the neighbours and your guests the priority, you can ensure a successful event… wherever it is.
