The fourth annual Buying British survey
Made in Britain has published its findings following the fourth annual Buying British survey.
The poll, which is sampled from 1,000 British businesses, indicates that almost half would prefer to buy products manufactured in the UK over alternatives shipped in from other countries.
Additionally, 61% of UK businesses are willing to pay more for British-manufactured goods.
Made in Britain is the trade association that brings together UK manufacturers united by the licensed use of its collective mark.
Interestingly, the trusted Made in Britain mark is recognized by two thirds of British businesses, of whom widely agree that it incentivises them to buy.
So why might this be?
Around two thirds of companies suggested a main driving factor is “to help the British economy and support British jobs,” while half prefer to buy British as “it’s more economical”.
43% of UK businesses have experienced international disruption and delays throughout the year prior to completion of the survey. As a result, two thirds say that have started ordering more British goods.
