New placement
Jayn is joining our team on placement following her university studies, where she achieved a Bachelor’s of Science award.
Working within a very dynamic industry, she will have the opportunity to work in multiple areas of Mar-Key Group to develop her understanding of how the business operates.

What are you studying and where❓
I am a recent graduate from the University of Buckingham, with a major in Economics and a minor in Spanish.
What attracted you to join Mar-Key Group and how long is your placement❓
I first came across Mar-Key Group during my research on the Sandpolo event tournament last summer. The marquees they built along the beaches of Sandbanks are the perfect place to host the event. What was even more impressive was the fact that the structures only took a few days to be erected. This piqued my curiosity as to how a large structure like this can be built on top of a sandy beach within a mere couple of days. I thought that it was incredible that Mar-Key Group was able to achieve such a large feat in such a small amount of time!
My placement is for three months, starting in January up until the end the March 2023.
What are you hoping to learn/experience at the business❓
I would like to learn more about the processes of project managing and the how an SME operates with large projects. I am excited to learn more about the varying aspects of the management processes (i.e., project managing, marketing and sales, event management, business operations, CRM, etc.) that are required to manage large projects such as Royal Ascot and The Open. I am also grateful to be part of a lovely, growing team and am excited to see the fruition of the team’s work over the next couple of months.
What are your plans once your placement finishes❓
I am going to be undertaking a Masters degree in Management at the start of September 2023, in the field of Business.
