Resource Assistant Job Description


Role Purpose

  • Assist the Resource manager with maintaining an overview on all company projects.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the staff and accommodation planners.
  • Book all plant and accommodation for the staff per project inline with the planner.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Resource department with office-based support.
  • To manage the Resource function in the absence of the resource manager.
  • Reconcile spend on labour, accommodation, plant etc, ensuring invoices and purchase orders correspond, and actual costs are journaled accurately into the Company system on a project-by-project basis.
  • Assist in the maintenance and communication of the staff planner including changes.
  • Work with and communicate changes in work scope in upcoming projects.
  • Compile reports on demand for the Resource manager with an over-view of upcoming jobs inc plant and accommodation reconciliations.
  • Manage clothing and PPE sourcing / distribution keeping record of receipt and stock levels.
  • Book, raise purchase orders for and assist in the procurement of items required to deliver projects such as accommodation, plant, tools and agency staff etc.
  • Ensure all purchases are made within the budget available per project, highlighting and getting approval for any over-spend prior to placing orders.
  • Work to minimise spend where possible, assisting in improving project profitability.
  • Prepare and review budget overview and control sheets.
  • Review vendor invoices against purchase orders, ensuring they correspond and negotiating with vendors where discrepancies have occurred.
  • Post job journals to recognise actual job costs for all operational purchases on a project-by-project basis.
  • Finalise details of purchases and deliveries when required.
  • Chase up any deliveries which are due / late to avoid problems on site.
  • Assist in managing required accreditation prior to on-site works commencing.
  • Assist with site tool maintenance including fall arresters etc and in vehicle PAT testing etc.
  • Attend meetings when required.

Core working hours:

  • Monday to Friday but must have a flexible approach to hours.

Hours: Full time, Permanent, Monday to Friday 9-5 (some flexibility required during project peaks)

Location: Christchurch, Dorset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
