Our recent build… in Bermuda!

By Hannah Field|Published 11/04/2017

A recent project saw us deliver the Team Base for Land Rover BAR ahead of the 35th America’s Cup in Bermuda which starts 26th May 2017.

Located right on the waterfront, the temporary structures are susceptible to strong winds and even the possibility of hurricanes, so the Mar-Key team headed over to Bermuda in November 2016 to begin work on this exciting project.

This high-end 20m x 25m double deck structure houses numerous exciting areas including the 11th Hour Racing Exploration Zone (an interactive visitor centre), and a hospitality zone – the ideal environment to welcome guests.

The wrap around decked balcony with recessed glazed handrails to the top floor provides fantastic views across the water and the opportunity to take in all of the action.

Much more industrial looking, the boatshed was constructed to house the Land Rover BAR race boat and shore team operations.

This impressive, solid sided, steel structure has a crane built into the roof to allow the team to easily and safely manoeuvre the boat, and is able to withstand winds of over 100mph!

As British manufacturers, we’re proud to have delivered our structures for the British Challenger and wish the team every success in the 35th America’s Cup.
