Sales Representative

We’re looking for a passionate, experienced Sales Representative to join our quickly growing business. At Mar-Key Group, you’re more than just a number on the payroll! You’ll have real input and influence to ensure we continue to exceed our targets and customer expectations.

Mar-Key Group designs, manufactures and builds structures for big events and well known commercial clients throughout the UK. On the events side of our business, our installs range from multi-deck hospitality suites for Royal Ascot, to covered space at huge sporting events like The Open and Goodwood Festival of Speed, to graduation structures at some of the country’s top universities. On the Structure Solutions side of the business, we’ve installed everything from temporary changing rooms for Saracens RFC to pop up supermarkets for Budgens and extra warehouses for Tesco at stores all around the country. Job Description

Sales Strategy and Generation

· Generate leads and cold-call prospective customers

· Interrogate and research the market to identify potential customers

· Interact with Brand & Marketing Manager on enquiry development strategies.

· Develop opportunities within target markets and organisations

· Promote the Company’s products/services

· Suggest strategies to successfully reach new business

· Attend conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners

· Possess a strong understanding of the company’s products and the competition

· Complete tenders and attend presentations as required

Sales Handling and Conversion

· Build relationships with new clients, gauging their needs and developing proposals to address these needs

· Manage and respond to incoming enquiries

· Pitching sales and products to new and existing clients

· Arrange business meetings with prospective clients

· Produce quotations and convert sales in line with required Company profit margins

· Drive to maximise revenue and profitability at all times

· Ensure all technical quotes are deliverable and technically achievable by liaising with Head of Group Sales

· Arrange and attend site visits

· Drive towards achieving and exceeding sales targets

· Logging and managing of all own sales enquiries and following the correct enquiry handling procedure

· Work with design team to create custom visuals for sales proposals

· Generate sales presentations and deliver

· Conduct a detailed hand-over of confirmed orders to the Project Management / Structure Solutions / Engineering team

· Maintain on-going relationship with clients during the project process

· To report on “lost potential sales”, giving indicative reasons why they didn’t choose Mar-Key Group, feeding into the ongoing conversion strategy

· Liaise with wider Management team to ascertain operational capacity and timelines for potential orders

After-Sales Support and Nurturing

· Conduct comprehensive hand-overs of converted orders to the Project delivery team.

· Provide after-sales support and gather customer feedback

· Maintain relationships with customers on an on-going basis

· Nurture existing customer base to drive repeat business

· Upsell aftercare packages / maintenance visits where appropriate

Essential Qualities for interview selection

· Strong organisational and relationship management skills

· Experience of dealing with senior management internally and managing executive-level clients

· Ability to build rapport and trusted relationships with clients and colleagues

· Proven ability to drive sales from enquiry to closure

· Commercial awareness

· Self-starter and target driven

· Attention to detail

· Ability to plan your own work, use your initiative and meet deadlines

· The ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands and prioritise tasks and workload

· In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office

· Flexibility with working hours and willingness to travel

· Talent in negotiation and networking

· Aptitude in working with numbers and fiscal awareness

· Interest in working in a growing business

Salary Range

£35,000 – £40,000 p/a DOE


Head Office based in Bournemouth/ Christchurch but must be willing to travel
