Mar-Key Group finds a valuable team member through apprenticeship

To celebrate International Apprenticeships Week (6-10 March 2017) we had a catch up with our youngest employee to find out how he’s getting on…

Since joining us in November 2016 as an apprentice from Bournemouth and Poole College, there’s no doubt that Jack has already made an impressive impact at our manufacturing warehouse.

Jack chose to join Mar-Key Group because of his interest in fabrication and welding, and wanted a company which would allow him to get hands on and develop his skills further. In the last few months, he has already spent time in the engineering and PVC departments and will continue to rotate through all areas of temporary structure manufacture.

Talking to us about is role, Jack said ‘When I first started my main interest was in welding, but since I’ve been able to work in other departments too I’ve found that I’m really enjoying PVC manufacture as it’s a completely new challenge.’

Managing Director Phil Grenville-Hunt commented ‘When working alongside our experienced manufacturing team, Jack is trained on a one-to-one basis allowing him to really understand our processes and techniques. Of course, as an industry leader, Health & Safety is a top priority and training of all our staff including retraining is a vital process that we all undertake including Jack. We are delighted to have him on board – he’s a valuable member of our team and I have no doubt that he will continue to make great strides!’
